Kathryn Davey | Fine Linen Scarf - Dijon
This scarf has been woven into a light weave linen & hand dyed using Weld (Reseda Iuteola L.) a biennial dye, with long spikes and small pale yellow flowers. One of the oldest dye plants used in Europe, it grew in the south of Sweden, North Africa, West Asia, Britain & parts Europe. Apparently the Romans used weld to dye the ancient robes of the vestal virgins in Roman times.
